Research Interest:

1. Visual function testing and applying

·         Visual function testing and medical evaluation for pilot student selection, aircrew member.

·         Clinical diagnosis and legal medical evaluation. There are more than 4,000 patients have been tested a year.

·         Developing visual related function testing method and equipment. In 2002, the first multifocal ERG testing system was developed and widely used in China.

·         Promotion and application of international standards in clinical practice, especially in clinical electrophysiology of vision.

·         Proposing the standard guideline for visual electrophysiological testing in laboratory animals.

2. Effects of various factors on visual system

·           Different vivo and vitro approaches in our laboratory have been used to study various factors on animal visual system, such trauma, microwave, infrasound, laser, medicine, etc.

3. Inherit retinal disease

·           Screening the mutant model with visual system problem.

·           Developed congenital stationary night blindness (CSNB) rat, retinal degeneration (rd) mice and retinal cone dysfunction (RCD) rat. The first two model have been established inbred strains and the mutant genes heve been identified.
